The vilage of Durankulak is sittuated 96 km north of Varna, 70 minutes driving from Varna international airport. The village is located in the most northeastern part of Bulgaria, about 3 km from the picturesque sea coast and 5 km form th Romanian border.
The lake of Durankulak is close to the village. It is a protected territory, inhabited by a lot of rare biological species. Durankulak has a wide and long sand line and a crystal sea water. Private hotels, bulgalows, and campings offer great conditions for holiday tourism.
Durankulak is also an archeological landmark. Near the village was discovered a pre-historical settlement which is more tha 7,000 years old, an old Bulgarian settlement from 9th-10th century, a Thracian settlement dating 8th-7th century BC, and also the biggest necropolis in the workld, whose age is more than 6,000 years. Here, it was discovered a temple of Kibela, a Thracian goddess, dating 4th-3rd century BC.
The population of the villae is 480 people.
Durankulak offers everything necessary for permanent residence and for a good holiday.
